About Us
We are among millions of families in the United States, and many more around the world, who have gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender children, siblings, parents, spouses, cousins, aunts and uncles or other family members. Straight family members of LGBT people are everywhere, including in our congregations and every congregation.
As family members and church leaders, we are:
- Making ourselves known to the church
and to each other.
- Reaching out to families and LGBT people
in our parishes and across the church family.
- Sharing what we've learned about keeping
families together in love, as Episcopalians and other people of
faith seek new ways to remain one family under God.

Silent Lives: How High a Price?
The High Cost of Silence:
How the Closet Hurts Everyone,
and What We Can Do |
|
"It's nobody else's business," family members
of LGBT people often think. "We keep it to ourselves." All too often,
families go into the closet when someone they love comes out.
In Silent Lives: How High a Price?, Sara Boesser graphically illustrates the high price GLBT people, their families and society pay for the silence of the closet. Sara's personal anecdotes, exercises for reflection and group discussion, and tips for coming out can help families break the silence that hurts everyone. Details at www.silentlives.com
